Jerry Jeff plays the hits,
Night After Night

Every week, it seems, we at the Tried & True office get forlorn calls from across the country asking where fans can obtain this or that album or song. Alas, we are often compelled to tell our callers that such-and-such an album is on one of Jerry Jeff's older labels and is out-of-print. Much wailing and gnashing of teeth invariably ensues.

For years, Jerry Jeff has wanted to make an album that combined some of his most oft-requested songs. Last September, he finally got his chance.

He and the Gonzo Compadres went to Birchmere in Alexandria, VA and set up shop. Besides being one of Jerry Jeff's favorite venues, the club is justly famous as one of the best "listening rooms" in the country.

After knocking the dust off a few of the older selections in Texas, the band flew to Virginia and, on Sept. 26, 1994 began four nights of live recordings. Over a hundred songs were captureBlock Partyd during that period, thanks inpart to the tireless efforts of Birchmere owners Gary and Linda Oelze and house engineer Billy Wolf.

Back home in Texas, Jerry Jeff and engineer Fred Remmert holed up at Cedar Creek Studios in Austin and began to sort through the pile of DAT tapes, looking for definitive performances of Jerry Jeff's favorites.

The results are being presented to you in the form of Night After Night, Jerry Jeff's new album, which is available through Tried & True Music.

The songs on Night After Night include:

All of the tracks on the album are represented just as they were recorded--live onstage, with no overdubs or studio sugarcoating. The 15 songs comprise a sort of "greatest hits" package featuring a slew of Jerry Jeff's favorites. We hope yours is among them.
